InkedWell Editing, LLC offers professional line editing, copyediting, and proofreading designed to strengthen voice, tighten prose, and enhance narrative momentum without stripping away an author’s style. I primarily work with indie authors, small presses, and agencies working in adult fantasy and adventure fiction.

Hello! My name is Sarah Ammons, and I’m a freelance editor specializing in fantasy and adventure fiction, as well as legal and academic publishing. I’m based in the Midlands of South Carolina, but I work with clients regardless of location.

I earned undergraduate degrees in English and Environmental Studies from the University of South Carolina Honors College, followed by a Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. This dual academic background allows me to work fluently at the intersection of storytelling, language, and technical accuracy. In addition, I attended the Denver Publishing Institute in 2024, where I immersed myself in the world of publishing and the editorial process.

Outside of work, I’m a bit of a homebody who still loves being outdoors. I spend my free time riding horses, playing with my two cats (Dinah and Adso), and enjoying game nights with my husband, Simon.
